how clients define it
-
Kristina, USA
“Coaching was a tremendous tool in helping me identify traits about myself that I would not have noticed without. Coaching also helped me find clarity, motivation, and new perspective.”
-
Aanchal, India
“Coaching to me is a process in which I can reflect inward and understand myself in the context of work and life better. It feels like a sounding board session where the coach and I are active listeners of me.”

“[Coaching is] a reflective tool to re-evaluate and reflect on goals and blockers. It creates practices and space for developing a new skill set and drives action from the coachee based on his/her motivations.”
Are you ready for change?
“change and loss travel together. We can’t have change without loss, which is why so often people say they want change but nonetheless stay exactly the same.”

FAQs
What is the difference between coaching and therapy?
Coaches are not therapists, but they are complementary. A therapist is extremely helpful in unpacking trauma and feelings. Therapy requires much more education and certification to properly diagnose and treat mental health. Coaching is a proactive tool to define and go after your goals, which is often most successful when you have an understanding of what made you who you are. You can have both a therapist and a coach at the same time, and even talk to both about a similar topic, but a therapist and a coach will likely approach the topic in different ways depending on how they are trained.
Is a coach different than a mentor?
Yes. A mentor gives advice based on first person experience and is often someone who is in a similar function and/or industry as the person seeking advice. A coach does not give advice, but rather asks questions that will provoke insights for the client to find their own path. We often believe in our own ideas more than those of others, and a coach will help you figure out what resonates most with you. Much like a therapist, a coach and a mentor can be complementary and good to have in your roster at the same time.
What type of person is suited for coaching?
Change is not easy and requires getting a little uncomfortable and sometimes facing hard truths. Clients who benefit the most from coaching must be willing to be honest with their coach and, more importantly, honest with themselves. They must explore their relationship with accountability while also being patient because real sustainable results take time. Being coached requires vulnerability, but it is the coach's job to create a safe enough space to allow that to happen.
What type of topics are suited for coaching?
I was trained to coach the “whole person,” meaning that no topic is off limits. No part of one’s life sits in a vacuum. What happens in our personal lives can impact our professional lives, and vice versa. That being said, I have specialized in career coaching but often find that diving into one’s career is still impossible without also exploring who we are in all aspects of life: values, beliefs, ambitions, relationships, leadership, etc.
What does a coaching session look like?
Sessions can be done virtually over video conference (typically Google Meet) or phone, or also in person if possible. An initial session is typically 90 minutes to allow for an extended introduction and designed alliance (shared expectations for the coaching relationship) and each session thereafter is typically one hour. It’s helpful for the client to come prepared with a topic and a goal in mind for the session, but also okay to wander as many people discover new questions or goals along the way. Depending on the topic, a session may involve coaching exercises such as visualization or yes/no lists. At the end of a session, the coach will press the client to make specific commitments and/or explore an inquiry that may take more time to consider. The majority of transformation, however, happens outside of the coaching sessions when clients put their insights into action.
Do you offer discounts or promotions?
I reserve one spot at a time for pro bono (free) clients, typically female entrepreneurs. I also offer a discounted rate for current full time students, military veterans, and clients who are recently unemployed (termination letter required).
